Product Safety and Social Compliance Policy Statement

OTTO International Inc. is committed to ethical and socially responsible business practice. In order to meet the product safety and compliance expectations of our marketplace, OTTO International Inc. insists all suppliers and all our products meet our design, material composition, product quality along with social and environmental standards.

Using accredited laboratory product testing and supported by a comprehensive documentation and data storage process, OTTO International Inc. diligently continues to work to ensure the compliance of our products to State/Provincial and Federal safety and compliance regulations. Products are tested for compliance to CPSIA, California Prop 65 and where applicable local State/Provincial materials and product design safety standards.

All products shipped by OTTO International Inc. into the State of California are subject to Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”) officially known as The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Proposition 65 was enacted as a ballot initiative designed to protect the state's drinking water sources from being contaminated with over 900 chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals. The list of chemicals and other information regarding Prop 65 can be accessed at www.oehha.ca.gov/prop65.

Prop 65 requires that a “clear and reasonable warning” be provided by a Person/Company in the course of doing business, who manufactures, produces, assembles, processes, handles, distributes, stores, sells, or otherwise transfers a consumer product which he or she knows to contain a chemical known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity to any person to whom the product is sold or transferred.

Because the manufacturer cannot test every individual piece of every order that we ship to California for every one of the Proposition 65 listed 900+ chemicals, you may continue to have concerns about the compliance with Prop 65. If so, then the safest option is to include a label on each product that may ship to the State of California which we will provide free of charge. The label will read as follows and will ensure full compliance with California Proposition 65 requirements:

In compliance with California’s Transparency in the Supply Chain regulations, all our suppliers must certify their compliance with our social and ethical compliance standards. Our buyers support this program with unannounced on-site factory audits annually to ensure the ongoing supplier compliance to product quality, social and safety compliance and proper environmental practice.

OTTO International Inc. has adopted the Promotional Products Association International’s (PPAI) “Code of Conduct.”
